  • Foot cream
  • Nail polish

10 Easy Steps on How to Do Pedicures at Home

1. Preparing Your Nails

First, you need to cut and shape your nails. Use nail polish remover to remove old nail polish and carefully trim your nails. To avoid nasty ingrown toenails, cut straight, not too close to the corners. File to the desired shape.

2. Footbath

Relax in the footbath. Fill a basin or bathtub with warm water up to your ankles and add bath salts. You can also add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Also,

add smooth pebbles. Put your feet on it and it will give you a soothing massage. Allow your feet to soak and rest for 15-20 minutes. Dry with a towel.

3. Exfoliate

Exfoliation is the next step. After washing your feet, pat dry and apply cuticle cream to the base of each nail. Wait a few minutes for it to pass. In the meantime, exfoliate your feet with a foot scrub to remove dry and dead skin cells. Be firm and gentle when rubbing. Wipe off the cuticle lotion and use the cuticle pusher to gently push the cuticle back.

4. Hydrate

After scrubbing, wash and moisturize your feet. Moisturizing cream softens, moisturizes and prevents rough skin. Apply an appropriate amount to your feet and massage well. Regular foot massage also helps stimulate nerve endings, improve blood circulation, and nourish the skin and muscles of the feet.

5. Foot Massage

Now, we usually apply some form of moisturizer and move on to the next step, but it’s important to properly massage your feet and toes for a few minutes.

6. Toe preparation

If you use cuticle oil, use a cotton ball to remove excess oil and make your manicure last longer. The toe separator is the most comfortable. However, if you don’t have one, there is a workaround. Simply twist a piece of paper towel into a rope and braid it between your toes.

7. Apply base coat

If you want your pedicure to last for a while, it’s important to apply a base coat that acts as a barrier between the nail polish and the natural oils on your nails.

8. Applying varnish

After the base coat dries, apply a thin layer of your favourite colour to your nails and let it dry. Then apply a second coat again.

 9. Apply Top Coat

Another important step is to make the varnish last longer. This is the top coat. The appearance of a thin finish coat helps prevent premature chipping.

10. Let it dry

Apply polish, let dry, and relax with rejuvenated feet.
